Autism finds a subtle nature of solution in music therapy. The autistic individual and specially the children can experience developed skills due to the effect of music therapy in their communication process and behavioral understanding. The role of music therapy seems to be of effective use for children who falter to interact with others in a normal manner or remain detached from the society or non-responsive to external stimulus. Many of the children cannot speak properly and instead repeat the words that they hear or produce abnormal hums.

In listening to the musical score from the same instrument, the autistic child finds interest in it and tries to experience the workings of the instrument. The first point of success comes when the autistic child accepts the instrument and in a way advances towards better social atmosphere. This is the greatness of music in autism which opens the door of social attachment to an autistic child who otherwise detests the social attachment. This is the merit of music in autism.
