Wish you could meet others who share your musical interests? Wish you could improve your playing while having fun with others? Want to join a band? Jordan Layne Bourland has started an exciting way to do this. “Grass Class” is a place where you can meet others, like yourself, who are looking to play music in a band setting. Since its start, students have been raving about this class. Many felt before attending this that they would never have the opportunity or the ability to play with other musicians. However, after working with their new friends in this camp they have surpassed many, if not all, expectations they had for themselves. Here’s the basic idea: Take one person on each instrument (banjo, mandolin, rhythm guitar, lead guitar, and bass) and get together for a one hour jam, once a week for twelve weeks, directed by Jordan. Jordan will provide you with all the learning materials you need. You will draw a list of 10-15 songs from his website Layne Publications. Each student will have a chance to “vote” for the songs that they wish to play. Once all the votes have been cast Jordan will sit down to determine the final list of songs.
