I ordered this book to be used for research for my two young children who play the violin. They were to prepare a report for a composer’s fair and Shinichi Suzuki was their composer. The book is a nice read for young children who are trained through the Suzuki method. My children have enjoyed very much learning more about Dr. Suzuki.

I bought this book hoping to motivate my 6 year old son in his violin practice. While I can’t say that this particular book has had the impact on his practicing that I would have liked, we did enjoy reading it together. Sinichi was an excellent example of how we should live our lives, caring for others and working to improve ourselves always, and I was glad to be able to read with him an account of Dr. Suzuki’s life with a book geared towards children. I would also add that an older elementary school child might enjoy this book more, perhaps 2nd to 6th grade.
